An Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company recognised as the largest tyre manufacturer in India.
Requirement
The client needed a secure, reliable, and cost-effective network solution, whether wireline or wireless, to connect their remote hill station and terrain sites. Furthermore, they sought a single platform to centrally manage and monitor the remote network and routers from their headquarters, as these sites lacked on-site IT personnel. The bandwidth requirement for each site was specified to be no more than 2 Mbps.
Challenge
The client operates in remote hill stations and rugged terrain locations where extending MPLS via wireline to all sites is not feasible. Additionally, wireless implementation presents significant challenges due to line-of-sight issues, making it difficult to establish a stable and reliable connection across these dispersed areas.
Solution
Wireless SD-WAN Connectivity Addressing the client’s issues, Viva provided the client with Wireless SD-WAN Connectivity. The solution included the following features;
- 3-in-1 Aggregation and Bonding: SMOAD offers a built-in 3-in-1 aggregation and bonding of diversified private cellular networks, enabling secure SD-WAN tunnelling to the HQ data centre. This approach ensures reliable connectivity even in remote locations with challenging terrain.
- WireGuard Protocol: The WireGuard Protocol, using ChaCha20 for symmetric encryption, ensures that the network is secure and protected end-to-end. This encryption protocol guarantees the integrity and confidentiality of data transmitted over the network.
- Network Throughput: WireGuard also enhances the network by enabling optimised bandwidth throughput, ensuring efficient use of the available bandwidth, and meeting the client's requirement of not exceeding 2Mbps per site.
- Centralised Management: The Centralised SD-WAN management platform (core orchestrator) allows for real-time monitoring and management of remote network operations from the HQ. This platform offers real-time visibility, eliminating the need for on-site IT personnel and providing a streamlined approach to network management.
